In a recent interview, Jang Moon Bok shared his experience as a trainee in “Produce 101 Season 2,” and named two trainees that he had hoped would make it into the top 11 and debut with Wanna One.
Although he started off strong as second place in the first week, Jang Moon Bok ended up as the 27th rank in his final week as a contestant. However, Jang Moon Bok expressed his gratitude for the people who voted for him rather than be disappointed about his result.
Jang Moon Bok explained that he knew it would be difficult to survive until the top 11 finalists were chosen. He said, “I thought it would be realistically difficult to make it to top 11. Others joined the show after they were trained professionally while I was new at everything. I knew less than Cube Entertainment’s Yoo Seon Ho, who was nicknamed a ‘chick trainee.'”
As a result, he focused on learning instead of striving to be included in the top 11. He thanked other trainees who helped him during the show. He shared, “Kwon Hyun Bin and Kim Ye Hyun from F class helped me a lot. Joo Jin Woo taught me for an hour and a half when I was learning ‘Pick Me.’ Kim Dong Han and Jung Won Chul helped me during the team mission, and the entire team helped me during the ‘I Know You Know’ mission. I was really thankful.'”
Jang Moon Bok also talked about trainees who he hoped would debut in Wanna One. He revealed, “There were two people I really hoped would succeed, and they were MMO Entertainment’s Yoon Ji Sung and Ador&Able’s Ha Sung Woon.”
He shared that he became close to Yoon Ji Sung when they were in F class together in the beginning and Yoon Ji Sung comforted him, while he befriended Ha Sung Woon later on during the show. “Since he’s already had experience promoting in a group, he gave me a lot of advice,” he added.
Jang Moon Bok said he has grown fond of the trainees who worked hard together with him during “Produce 101 Season 2.” With the lessons he learned from the show, he is considering to debut not only as a solo artist, but also possibly in a group. After two mega hit audition programs, “Superstar K” and “Produce 101 Season 2,” Jang Moon Bok seems ready to shine.
